Daddy Long Leg Facts

Just so you get to know the STAR of my book a little better, I hope you enjoy some interesting daddy long legs facts. Bet you never thought you'd be learning this!

1) They are not the most poisonous spiders in the world. In fact, the mouth pieces on a daddy long legs are more like crab claws than actual fangs.

2) Daddy Long legs are also known as Opiliones (hence the name of this blog). That is Latin for "Aphid Sucker."

3) Yes, they are a spider, but strangely use their second pair of legs like antennae. This compensates for the only TWO eyes that they have on their head, lodged in the middle like a turret gun.
